Oh boy oh boy it's almost Christmas!

This is evidence of Hollis's first big boy haircut. He had his first experience at my Rat Bite Salon. The dogs could have warned him about the special signature rat bites all my clients leave with. He's a trooper and no complaints, well no complaints I can understand.

Hollis is working on his words. His favorite right now is "whoa" and when something is really exciting he yells "whoa-ie". He is enjoying stomping various items he finds in the yard, this is quite entertaining.

I broke another camera and got it replaced last week. So if anyone is keeping count, I have broke two and working on being very careful with the third. All in one year. I am back to Kodak and it is much quicker, so I can get those action shots.

Hollis has no idea of what is coming in the next 2 days. It should be fun watching him destroy wrapping paper, what bits he hasn't already. We leave for camping Friday and I am sure we will get some great shots.

So getting one decent picture of the family is harder than I first thought. Hollis is way too quick and Jeremy refused to change out of his pajamas. This is my best attempt.

We hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving. We went camping for the first time in Hollis's life. It was so much fun we are going back for Christmas. Anyone want to come?

We got a new camera and I am in the process of learning all about it. I still cannot figure the video. Soon hopefully.

Halloween was fun. Hollis had a good time watching all the kids trick or treat. Not productive for candy ( he can't eat it anyway ), but a lesson on timing. Get to the houses early. Life is good on the island. Excited for the holidays and our 9 year anniversary. Maybe a camera is in my near future, hmmmm.

Fresh Lava and Zoo Animals

My friend Catherine came for a visit and test. While she was here we took in some sites. Fresh lava flowing into the ocean. You can only see steam during the day.

So this is what zoo animals must feel like. A tour bus of Japanese visitors gathered around Hollis and took his picture. They were very nice but it was a tad odd.

Running

So for the last 6 weeks I trained for a 10K run. It was the 13th annual "Run for Hope".

The training was hard and fun with Hollis "Bob-ing" along the whole way. It felt great to finish, 64 minutes, but running with a lot of people is not the best.

My pit crew, Jeremy and Hollis, had team shirts that said "Run Momma Run". I can't wait to be Jeremy's pit crew when he races motorcross.

We are doing great out in the middle of the ocean. It has been raining a lot the last couple of days, making everything green.

Hollis has many teeth popping through, big boy chompers. He also tells the dogs, "GO!", which is very cute. Hollis is also walking very well, going in reverse and working on jumping.
